    Hello,

Your plugin is great and like to use it.

I just encountered a problem using TablePress in combination with the extension Table Auto Update and Google Spreadsheet. After an automated import using a HTML source, there is an extra column and a row added at the beginning. See this link with an image: https://freeimage.host/i/HFp0qU7

In this image, the first column with numbers should not be there. And the second row should be the header but i pushed down. I can manually delete these extra row and column but after an auto import they show up again.

As far as I can see there are no other table plugins installed that can conflict with TablePress. Hope you can help me out.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

What’s the exact import URL that you are using?
When importing from Google Spreadsheets, I normally recommend using their CSV sharing feature, so that TablePress can import a CSV file. This is usually much more reliable.

Note that, instead of deleting the row/column (which would indeed get overwritten again in the next import), you could mark the row/column as “hidden”. For that, click the checkbox on the left of the row or below the column and use the “Selected row/column: Hide” button. This way, the row/column will also not be shown to your site’s visitors, and the information about hidden rows/columns does not get overwritten during an auto-import.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hello,

The reason we don’t use CVS but HTML is because we want to create hyperlinks in the table. If I’m correct, this is not possible with CVS.

The hiding option works and is a good workaround. Thank you very much!

    Hi,

ah, I see. Creating links in the CSV format works by typing in the HTML code for links, but yes, it’s maybe not so nice.

Good to hear that the hiding workaround will do ??

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
