• I’ve placed a Facebook “like box” on my site and everything worked fine until recently, when it was automatically replaced by a green “sign in” button with the text: “Find us on Facebook. Create an account or Log In to see what your friends like”. The button leads to the following url: https://www.facebook.com/campaign/landing.php?campaign_id=137675572948107&partner_id&placement=likebox_plugin&extra_2=MK

I have no restrictions based on country or age, everyone is allowed to become a fan on my FB page, so I don’t see why the visitors would have to sign in? It also ruins the look of my site url here. How to solve this problem? I found other people who have the same problem, but no solution.

In case you don’t see the problem, here’s a url to a screenshot.

Additional details: The problem doesn’t appear if I’m signed in to FB. I would like the “like box” to appear as it was before, for all visitors, regardless if they are signed-in to FB or not (some dont have a FB account at all, but they could still see the like box, my logo, the like button and the number of fans in the box).

The html code for the widget can be found here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box/
I copied the iframe version of the code.

I’m afraid that maybe FB modified the widget in some way or its just a temporary error? I would really hate if they are intentionaly displaying content that I don’t want on my site and forcing the visitors to log-in. I suspect that this may be some sort of advertisement, like attracting people to sign up (note the word “campaign”).

    Thanks for your opinions.

Perhaps a Facebook WordPress plugin may help…? Or are you using one already?

I don’t know where you’d get Facebook support but it looks like your problem is with Facebook and not WordPress related.

I’m using the code not a plugin, but i will try a plugin if there’s no other way.

You’re right, however, many people use fb widgets on their wp sites and there’re some fb-related questions in the forum, so i hoped that someone can help with this one.

update for those who may have the same problem: a plugin didn’t help me (cause it probably gets the same info from FB as the code does). Or maybe it depends on the plugin, but im already too tired to try them all.

I’m still looking for the causes for this problem and for a solution. I’m so angry, i wish i delete all references to fb from my site. Why they mess sites like this??
