First of all — Please also see my other issue post, which is a separate but very inter-related issue: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/gallery-settings-page-fields-dont-function-menus-are-missing-labels/

An unwanted “[Show picture list]” link appeared in the middle, bottom gray “Customers” widget box of our website at the top of the box after a recent update of the NextGEN Gallery plugin from 2.2.12 to 2.2.14. See this screenshot: https://inplace.beta04.ascedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Picture-list-link-text-that-will-not-go-away.jpg

I would like to figure out the easiest way to “hide” the “[Show picture list]” link in the Customers box. Since it cost a lot of development time to get this hidden the first time (more on that below), I was hoping to find a simple enough work-around so that I can do this myself this time. There is a radio button to hide it in Gallery Settings, but that is not working. See screenshot: https://inplace.beta04.ascedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Ignoring-Radio-Button-No-Setting.jpg

Perhaps there is a place where I can use a custom user style sheet to hide this link, that overrides but does not replace any of the main plugin files?

(I want to figure out the quickest way to hide this link text for the time being, even though if my other Gallery Settings post is solved, it will likely solve this issue too.)

Further explanation as to how this all happened:

Last week we updated the NextGEN plugin from 2.2.12 to 2.2.14. I hoped that doing this update would perhaps refresh the plugin and solve our other Gallery Settings page display problem (as detailed in other post: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/gallery-settings-page-fields-dont-function-menus-are-missing-labels/). It did not fix that problem. Instead, due to the update process the “[Show picture list]” link emerged.

This was not the first time that the [Show picture list] link had to be removed. The first time was several weeks ago when our developer updated our WordPress core and updated our NextGen Gallery plugin from version 2.1.0 to version 2.2.12. After that update, they had to add a special CSS class that hides the [Show picture list] text. Theoretically, the Gallery Settings page allows you to hide this without code, with the simple “No” radio button. As per previously shown screenshot: https://inplace.beta04.ascedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Ignoring-Radio-Button-No-Setting.jpg

However, ever since the Gallery Settings page started to malfunction, this radio button stopped working. This is also consistent with the fact that NONE of the settings fields seem to work in the Gallery Settings page any longer ever since the label text for the expanding menus (such as NextGEN Basic Thumbnails, NextGEN Basic Slideshow, etc.) disappeared after the 2.2.12 update (more on that in the separate issue I posted).

I am aware, also, that there is a “Reset Plugin” that is supposed to potentially help with NextGen Gallery problems:
    https://bitbucket.org/photocrati/nextgen-gallery-reset/get/default.zip

I’m not sure if this is appropriate for dealing with either of our 2 issues?

Any ideas on how to help, would be greatly appreciated.

@1-krn – I believe once the missing settings are sorted out (as reported in the first two topics) this will be much easier to address either via settings or via the generated shortcode for the inserted display.

    Thanks!
