Unwanted theme picture removed in customizer but appears in editor

    In customizing my theme I successfully deleted an unwanted picture. But when I go to edit the picture, this picture is still there and I am unable to delete in the editor. Why is that? Is it because I saved it as a draft that the unwanted picture appears? Yes, I am a beginner, lol! Thank you.
