Unwanted Trackback Spam

  • I turned off comments and trackbacks on my settings page. I no longer get spam comments, but I am still getting spam trackbacks. Is this a bug, or do I need to do something else to have trackbacks be blocked?

    Trackbacks and comments can be enabled or disabled on a per-post basis. That setting just determines whether the box is checked or not by default. Disabling trackbacks means editing every post to turn off trackbacks for that post.

    Take a look at the akismet plugin. I believe it will block all unwanted spam comments and pingbacks.
