Upcoming event list ignoring start date

Hi,

I have two websites I am using this plugin on. They are set up identically with the upcoming events list on the home page showing two items. They are both set to show events starting “today”. One of the websites (the one listed above) has stopped working properly. The event list is starting at the beginning of the month instead of “today”. The other website is still fine. The only difference is I just upgraded the plugin on the website that is having problems. The other website is still using the older version. I have tried resetting the permalinks, updating the shortcode, I did not have any filters to turn off, removing and re-adding the shortcode to the page, and also creating a new shortcode from scratch. Nothing helps.
