This is a follow-up to the previously posted topic Upcoming features from June 2023. I had to create a new topic since the old topic got closed for new replies before I received an answer.

I wonder if any of the following features are on the roadmap and planned for release during the first half of 2024?

    1. URL parameter for start time (start playing at the time code in the address). I can submit the code as a pull-request if you accept them.
    2. Podcast cover image as a part of the preset (so we don’t have to set cover image for every new episode).
    3. Chapters for Bunny Stream video clips (Presto Player’s chapter markers are called Moments in Bunny Stream).
    4. Heatmaps for Bunny Stream video clips (available through the API).
    5. Timeline previews for Bunny Stream video clips (available through the API).
    6. Automatic parsing of chapters in audio clips.
    7. Sync for video clip settings (poster image, chapter markers, subtitles) from Bunny Stream to Presto (and vice versa would be great as well). I’ve started working on this for Vidstack and can do the same for Presto Player if/when Presto Player gets support for chapters (not just moments).
    8. Ability to change the default settings for autoplay, play inline, performance preference etc.
    9. AirPlay and Chromecast. Vidstack (the successor to Plyr Player used by Presto Player) just got support for both AirPlay and Chromecast.
    10. Optional download button for compatible media (e.g., mp3 files).
    11. Audio player captions (maybe even searchable captions).
    12. Multiple Bunny Stream libraries (currently limited to two).

I also wonder if the excellent searchable captions feature will be integrated into the native UI for improved consistency and accessibility?

  • +1 for the above

+ a way to sync the bounce-point when someone stops watching to ESPs (I think Wistia / Vidalytics does this). Ex: If someone stops watching at chapter 2 out of 5, do a contact update call to ActiveCampaign so we can automatically trigger an auto-responder sequence to try and get them back to watch the rest of the video

Since we’re way past the first half of 2024, the answer was:

    1. No
    2. No
    3. No
    4. No
    5. No
    6. No
    7. No
    8. No
    9. No
    10. No
    11. No
    12. No

Searchable captions integrated in the native UI was also a hard ”no”.
