Updat wp 3.9 installed 4.0 Alpha

Hi,

I just followed these tips and worked like a charme, just went to the /wp-includes/version.php and changed the version number back to 3.9.

The en_GB version also has this problem, but it just happens automatically. I do not have any Beta testing plugins and have never beta tested anything! Suddenly tonight all my live sites are at the bleeding edge! This is three weeks after your problems and it is clearly not fixed.

The ‘en_GB’ 3.9.1 package has been rebuilt https://en-gb.www.ads-software.com/releases/

You should be able to select ‘Check for updates’ and an option to reinstall 3.9.1 en_GB should be available.

I have just confirmed that the updated package is fixed and the version shows as 3.9.1.

Stephen thanks so much for this! I almost resorted to a full reinstall and mysql rollback! This has saved me so much time.

It doesn’t show me the “Re-Install” option but only
– Update Now
– Download 3.9.1-en_GB
– Hide this update

I change the version in the version.php to “3.9” first and then to “3.9.1”. Both time I will NOT get a “Re-Install” option. What can I do???

@fj196787 If you set the WordPress version in /wp-includes/version.php to 3.9 and then check for updates you should see:

(Substituting en_AU for en_GB in your case)

You then click ‘Update Now’ and your site will upgrade to WordPress en_GB v3.9.1
