update -1 error

    Hello

    I have now already 2 websites where no updates of plugins / themes work anymore! It always comes the error message -1. See screenshot attached. On the log files on the server are no message apparent. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong? Is it because of WordPress 6.1.1?

    The backend then says the following:

    Update Themes

    The update process is starting. This may take a while, please be patient.

  • Do you have the Astra Starter Sites plugin installed?

    There have been many reports of this mystic -1 error message here, and in 100% of the cases that I’ve seen, this plugin is the culprit.

    If you have this plugin installed, deactivate (and optionally remove) it. Your updates should succeed after that.

    The Astra authors are aware of this and have already fixed the problem in the most recent version, so you can reinstall the latest version of the Starter Sites plugin if you want (though this plugin is meant to be a one-time use plugin, and there’s no need to have installed on a live site).
