Many thanks for a great plugin, i’m quite taken aback that I have a problem, it

    is usually so rock solid.

Since this last 1.9 version with new woocommerce support my clients’ live site

is returning an error on new customer account creation proceeding from directly

    placing an order.

For the moment I have the plug in switched off on the live site so that orders

    can be placed.

If someone tries to create an account from the my-account sign up page without

placing any order then all proceeds correctly and an account is created.

If, however, the customer checks ‘create an account’ on the checkout page and

then proceeds to ‘place order’ the error ‘Please enter your First Name’ is

displayed despite having that field correctly filled in. If ‘create new

account’ is not checked then the order is placed without a problem.

I have some checkout field modifications on my child theme so to be sure I

tested this function on my development site (which is a clone of the live site)

using the standard twenty fifteen theme and obtained the same error.

Perhaps I should rollback to 1.9.0.3?

    Could you advise please?

    Hi Paul_N,

Thank you for getting in touch regarding this issue. I’m sorry to hear about the issue with your WooCommerce. We’ll look into that and help you fix the issue.

I’ll need a bit more info from you on the specifics, and we’ll need to email back and forth, so please head over to the WP-SpamShield Support Form, and take a moment to fill out a support request. That will allow us to take care of this as quickly as possible for you (and anyone else who is experiencing the same issue).

Yes, for now you may want to roll back to 1.9.0.3 on the live site, but leave 1.9.0.4 up on the development site so we can do some tests once we receive your support request.

For anyone else having this issue, we are currently working on a fix.

There is a temporary workaround so that you don’t have to completely disable WP-SpamShield while we fix the issue.

First, in the WP-SpamShield Settings, turn on “Blocked Comment Logging Mode” and enable the option for “Log All Comments”. This will log important info that can help us in debugging. (This log info should not be posted to www.ads-software.com forums…this should only be submitted to us through the WP-SpamShield Support Form.)

Second, check the box for the setting “Disable Registration Spam Shield.” and it will stop the issue from happening in WooCommerce. (You just might get some spam on your registration forms, but the plugin won’t interfere the registration during orders.)

This issue is fixed in version 1.9.0.5 that was just released.

    Excellent. You’re very welcome.

Hi Scott, thank you for the wonderful plugin!

I am still unfortunately having this issue occuring even after upgrading to 1.9.0.5, customers that are clicking on the “add to cart button” are getting the following message: “Automated spam attempt detected. JavaScript and Cookies are required. Please be sure JavaScript and Cookies are enabled in your browser, and reload the page.”

I have disabled the plugin for now. Could you please advise?

    Thank you kindly,

    Hi Orian,

    You’re very welcome!

I’m sorry to hear you’re having that issue. Thanks for letting us know.

This sounds like a slightly different issue from the one initially mentioned in this thread, but we’ll be happy to help you get things fixed up and working right on your site.

First off, as a temporary solution, you can use the following workaround: in your WP-SpamShield settings, check the box for the setting “Disable anti-spam for miscellaneous forms.” and it will stop the issue from happening, and you won’t have to disable the plugin.

I’ll need a bit more info from you on the specifics, and we’ll need to email back and forth, so please head over to the WP-SpamShield Support Form, and take a moment to fill out a support request. That will allow us to take care of this as quickly as possible for you (and anyone else who is experiencing the same issue).
