Update 2.61 Layered Nav No Longer Works

  • After the update that was just released, our Layered Nav no longer filters the products. The page just refreshes and continues to show all products.

    You should check all other extensions too. The 2.6 layered nav is substantially different and more efficient.

    We’re not using the Advanced Ajax Layered Nav widget. We’re using one simply titled “WooCommerce Layered Nav”. See the screenshot here: https://i.imgur.com/ReE6uZF.jpg

    Is this different from the widget you’re referring to?

    Thats fine, but you should deactivate the other if not in use. Best to rule out plugin conflicts first, then cache. I’ve confirmed the widget works on other installs.

    Nuts ?? I deactivated the Advanced Ajax one in the plugins menu and still no-go. Filtering still just refreshes the page and continues to show all the products.

    I may have stumbled onto something that might help. If I add Advanced Ajax Layered Nav widgets to a widget area they don’t display AT ALL in the side bars on the front end of the site.

    Is there a missing script somewhere or some conflict to be looked for that would stop the Advanced Ajax ones from showing at all and stop the Regular ones from functioning?

    Can you do a quick test with another theme? I notice the brackets are being changed so the theme may be modifying things.

    I switched over to one of the free themes with no luck. I made sure the filter was listed in the URL when I tested it and it was.

    i.e. https://www.bbqgrillpeople.com/product-category/grills/built-in-grills/?filter_manufacturer=blaze

    What code snippets do you have? Anything which modifies queries?

    If you can do a test with another theme it would help narrow down further. You may have to add the widgets back to your sidebar after switching.

    I am having the same issue with all suggested changes in place – running 2.6.1

    Thank you! I found the culprit. It was the single Snippet I had running. Could you explain why this snippet would kill the Layered Nav functionality after the recent update?

    To improve performance, the layered nav queries are based on the main query. So your code may have changed the listings, but not the nav.
