• This is so unprofessional and costs a lot of money

We are working on a big project for a new website, we spent the last 10 days updating texts in multiple languages and the looks yesterday at 12:53 the whole site looked like this image

    https://ibb.co/B4yfQRG

Back in June we had the same problem with one of your updates, we narrowed it down to your plugin.

Thankfully one hour before we had made a backup, but we had the team come back in for 4 hours redoing what we did before and making several backups

What we found is the workaround:
    1. disable elementor plugin auto update
    2. downgrade to version 3.15.3
    3. restore last backup before plugin update
    4. clear cloudflare cache and browser cache to remove the bad load
    5. then everything is back

To test it we made a backup last night turned on auto update (on our staging site) and came in this morning and it was all corrupted. Again, one of the developers we paid to make some custom widgest was really angry we paid him 1500 to do this and he said he will not recreate the widgets, thankfully we found your plugin problem.

Now we will no longer update elementor before doing full backups, which is a sad day in the history of elementor. Our team was talking how much nicer elementor was compared to other plugins we used for years.

Please notify us all when there is a fix.

  • A similar thing had been happening for quite a few versions on our end, most recently with version 3.18.2. Updating to the latest Elementor Pro plugin would wipe all the ‘Posts’ widgets in the whole website, containing all the blog posts and other posts. We’ve had to restore the website to the latest backup (luckily we have daily backups).

We noticed it only seemed to happen with the Elementor Pro plugin (not the regular Elementor), which is worse because it’s a paid service. What worked in the end for us was running the Elementor Pro Data Updater and updating the Elementor Pro plugin after.
