I have a notice in my dashboard saying “Google Analytics Dashboard for WP has been updated to version 5.0.0.1. For details, check out the documentation page and the plugin’s settings page.” Does this mean the dashboard has been automatically updated or I have to manually do this myself. In the documents there is nothing about updating there is a video. But everything is about installing. Does this mean I have to completely go through the whole manual installation again ?
    Thanks
    Andrew

  • Hi,

It’s a notice to let you know that the plugin has been updated on your site.

    1. Manually updated, eg: from x to y, 5.x to 5.y or 5.x.y to 5.x.z.

    2. Automatically updated, eg: from 5.x.y.z to 5.x.y.w.

For 1. checking the documentation page and plugin’s settings is recommended. That’s because we’re usually introducing new features and/or existing features are changing a lot.

For 2. checking the plugin’s settings is recommended. Even if we’re talking about small bugfixes a quick check of the plugin’s settings is still recommended.

Besides these you don’t need to take any other action. At the bottom of the documentation page there are some useful resources linked, among them, the release notes for major updates, tutorials, and FAQ (which are updated frequently).
