I just updated to 7.7 from 7.6, and now WordPress is locked out of the Admin section with technical difficulties. I used the recovery link from the new emails from WordPress 5.2, and it’s telling me:

This plugin failed to load properly and is paused during recovery mode.

An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 49 of the file /homepages/43/d735385872/htdocs/live/wp-content/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/lite/includes/load.php. Error message: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/homepages/43/d735385872/htdocs/live/wp-content/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/lite/includes/admin/wp-site-health.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php7.1′)

Ran into the same issue. Had to login to FTP (or your hosting control panel) and deleted MonsterInsight to get the site to work again.

The fact the plugin doesn’t run a version check and instead just kills everything, is very concerning.

    Hi there,
We’ve issued an update for this.

SVN didn’t add one of our files, ugh.

Version 7.7.1 should solve this issue

    Sorry about that

    -Chris

Help please – I have the same issue – and renamed my plugin directory to get into the Admin console.

Issue now is I cannot update the plugin from the Admin Console (since if I activate it – I can’t get in)

Anyway to get the missing file to me please? or Some guidance on the steps to follow to get the update…

    Thanks,
    Pierre
