update 8.4.0 opens the product page instead of normal page

Since update 8.4.0 pages with WC shortcode [product_page id=”xxxx”] opens the WooCommerce product page instead.

I went ahead with testing this, on a test installation, without being able to reproduce it.

Linked here is the product page itself, while here it is added via the shortcode.

Could you edit the page with the Shortcode version?

It shows with me as well, but the problem is when editing the normal page with the shortcode..
Then it′s “redirecting” me to editing the product page with in the browser addressbar the post id of the normal page.

Is it normal to take this long to fix a bug?

You can check out the recently released version 8.8.2.

The workaround (alternative solution), that maybe help others is to replace the short codes with the Woocommerce single product block.

To be able to reach the pages, first roll back to a version before 8.4 or more easy switch off the Woocommerce plugin temporarily.
