Update and add
-
It’s time to update this plugin to the latest version of WordPress, for starters.
Secondly, while there are some decent customization options available, there needs to be a lot more added. Namely, being able to maximize responsiveness for mobile without having to add custom CSS to every page.
For example, if I wanted to show results on desktop as inline and then block on mobile, I should. Or I should haven’t to go in and change the CSS to make the teams and logos fit on one line.
This is probably the most complete all-in-one package for league management, especially for a news style entity, but it still needs a lot of work. Just look at how ESPN displays tables. On mobile, the team name (short name at that) and position are grouped and then fixed while the rest of the columns are scrollable. Or in the NCAA standings on ESPN, you get separate columns for conference and overall but you can’t really do the same with SportsPress if you wanted.
You can’t separate box scores by position, so instead of each offensive position like QB, RB or WR being separated out you get one large grouped box score for offense.
It just seems half-baked with too much needed on top of it to really make it work. A word to the devs: not every sport works the same as the others.
