    Hi,
Thank you for a wonderful plugin. I love it so much. Are you going to update it soon? ??

Also I got this from our hosting company:
“The plugin “universal-star-rating” seems to be generating additional executions when used. I would recommend you to consider using static CSS styles for this plugin. If this is not possible, you should consider disabling the plugin since it generates additional executions each time the plugin is loaded on the front end of your website.”

Any thoughts? Do you have any plans on making it less heavy on sites? ??

    Hi there!

What kind of update would you expect? ??

Regarding the recommendation: For the moment it is necessary to regenerate the css file because of the variable sizes of the output etc. What means “heavy” in your opinion? How much time is needed?

Side Note: It’s funny that people are always afraid of “heavy” code or too many lines within these files because todays servers are not that slow that it should really make a difference for the “look and feel” of a page. E.G. people upload high res pictures which take megabytes but they fear about 1-2 milliseconds of code execution ??

Thank you for your fast reply. Well it was my hosting company that alerted me to this and I am not that techy, so I figured I pass it along to you ??

As for the update, I guess it is not compatible with the newest WordPress version? This is what a user gets: “Warning: This plugin has not been tested with your current version of WordPress.”

    Thanks ??

Ah I see. Well don’t worry about the css loading. Even if it gets generated everytime it should be very fast. I will check if I can change it a bit when I’ve got a bit more time.

For the update thing: I try to not update the plugin all the time when a new WordPress release comes out. People always “have to” update it even if I changed nothing except the tested flag. That forces people to retest their own installation.

Usually the WordPress Project doesn’t change things the way that USR doesn’t work anymore. It happened once but it was manageable in a short time.

I will test USR the next few days and update the necessary flag so that it’s tested again. Btw. it could help to flag it by yourself at the main page of the plugin. At the bottom right you can say what you experience and that would help me and others to see if everything works fine.

Are you OK with my answers? If so I’d like to mark this thread as “solved”.

Wish you a good night ??
