Update Banner won’t Clear + Permission Issue

  • On the Dashboard I see:

    “Google Analytics Dashboard for WP has been updated to version 5.1.2.5. For details, check out the release notes and the plugin’s settings page.”

    #1 Clearing it has no effect. Once the page redraws, it returns.

    #2 Clicking on the settings page link, results in this message:

    “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

    I’m an ADMIN. I’ve replicated this error on multiple installations.

  • Agreed. It’s annoying seeing this on every one of the 50+ WordPress sites I administer, no matter what I do.

    Hi,

    Usually it’s a browser extension blocking the normal execution of the dismiss action. On future releases the message can be dismissed using a button on General Settings screen (Clear Errors button or a new one).
