Update broke office365 (Unrecognized authentication type)

    Recently updated from v1.8.9 to v1.9.2 and email starts to fail with this error.
    5.7.4 Unrecognized authentication type [HK0PR03CA0058.apcprd03.prod.outlook.com]

    I have another site installed with non-updated version of this plugin (v1.8.9) that uses the exact same email configuration which still works.
    smtp.office365.com:25
    Security:STARTTLS, Auth: Login

    how can I make office365 work with v1.9.2?
