The most recent Asset clean up update broke the css of the site.
I’m not sure why. I’ve tried turning off all of the JS and CSS minification or combine options but there is no change.

I’ve kept a copy of the broken site on lumenforgedev.wpengine.com
If you want to see the working version of the site (the single difference between the two is one has Asset Cleanup 1.8.3.2 and the broken one is on 1.8.3.3 – lumenandforge.com

  • The version 1.3.8.4 broken my CSS site too . I disabled “CSS Files Minification” and it works in the 1.3.8.4. I’m using Supplier theme 1.4 and the menu crashes.

    1.3.8.4 broken
    1.3.8.3 broken
    1.3.8.2.1 not found
    1.3.8.2 ok

    I’m waiting a new update.

try clean the assets cleanup cache and the browser cache after rollback with ctrl+shift+r then you can use the 1.3.8.4 with “CSS Files Minification” off or 1.3.8.2

Thanks for this information! I looks like you were spot on, I must have forgotten to clear one of my many caches when I was troubleshooting.

I am using “the7” theme. I tried excluding individual css files from minification but it continues to break the whole site (custom written pages as well). Turning off minification helps, but it slowed my site down. For now, I’ll stick with the older version of the plugin.

Hopefully they fix this with the next update!

@alexmei @antonio24073 you were right about the CSS modification. In certain situations, it could break a layout. My sincere apologies about this!

I’ve updated the development version that has a fix and I’d like you to use it. Here’s how to get it: https://www.assetcleanup.com/docs/how-to-get-the-development-version-of-asset-cleanup/ – just delete the version you have (no worries, all settings will be preserved) and install the development one. Looking forward to your feedback! In my tests, it worked well.

Excellent! Thank you for this Gabe. Does this mean that automatic updates from here on will also include this fix?

@alexmei yes, it will include the fix. I assume based on your last comment that the development version has been working well for you ??
