When I update to 3.8.9 some CSS images won’t work. When I rollback to 3.8.7 the page works fine. I’ve purged the cache on all pages, but that didn’t remedy the issue.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

Can you please share what are the missing images?

    Thank you!

The clipart … check mark, diamond, and lightning bolt. Also the grey background at the top mountain range. Perhaps others.

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing. I’ve tried replicating something similar on my side, but I couldn’t. It worked well.

From a quick check on your site, it looks like this can be related to a cache and minification plugin you are using on your site. You can try to have a look at that.

    Kind regards,

I deactivated those two plugins and updated Neve theme to 3.8.10… unfortunately same result. Had to restore to 3.8.7 then everything worked again. Thoughts?

I also noticed that the theme preview changes with the update…

    Hi @nobigbro,

Sorry for the late reply. In your case, if I’m not wrong, you are just missing images from the starter site demo content. In that case, unfortunately there isn’t something we can do from our side. Indeed, we changed the starter site demo, but that shouldn’t interfere with this.

If you want those image specifically, you can choose the demo of your choice from here https://demosites.io/ , inspect the code and download the images, and upload them on your site.

    Hi @virturex,

Your case seams to be a little bit different. Make sure this is not related to a plugin you have on your site. You can do that by using the Troubleshoot mode of the HealthCheck plugin https://docs.themeisle.com/article/1112-theme-doesnt-work-as-expected-troubleshooting-guide

    Kind regards,

I doubt that I’m missing the images since they show up just fine using version 3.8.7. There’s something else going on with the subsequent updates.

It’s still doing it on any update beyond 3.8.7. Once I rollback to 3.8.7 everything works fine. Guess I’ll just forego the updates from now on??

    @nobigbro,

Can you update the theme and inspect the missing image on browser tools, to see what is the URL of that image?
Then, if you rollback and you see that image appearing, please also inspect the image to get the working URL of the image so you can compare the difference between those. That could also help us to understand what is the problem and possibly advise you about the fix.

    Thanks!

Thank you. I did that and it appears there is no difference. Have a look…

    Hi there,

    Sorry for the late reply.

I think the issue is related to the fact that at, some point, we changed the default starter site that comes with the theme, and as you’ve used that old starter site, without changing it’s icons, you are now experiencing some missing icons/images.

The only solution I see in this case, for the moment at least, if for you to download on your computer the images you have ( when using the version where it works for you https://phancybox.com.au/how-to-save-an-image-from-a-website/ ), and than, after you do the update, just update the images by editing the page ( like you’d do to any new image you want on your site ).

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

    Rodica
