• I updated CVG plug-in, and was checking the details. When I tried to go back to my dashboard I got a 500 error. (using Edge) Same on the front-end. So I tried Firefox, and got the same error. I disabled the plug-in from my File Manager. My site is back up. But now what do I do?

I’m afraid to enable the plug-in for fear it will crash again. If I uninstall it will I lose all my galleries? Or can I uninstall it and try re-installing. I just went to JW Player and got a key, so it’s ready, but I haven’t used it yet. Please advise the best way to proceed. This is the best video plug-in available, and I don’t want to lose it!

Please take a backup of current htaccess before changing anything.

I have that one already on my hard-drive.

Let me know once you go to default htaccess and other plugins disabled.

    It’s default, and everything’s disabled

I’m not able to figure out the exact cause. Looks like falcon wordfence has caching problem and htaccess over writing issues. There are many articles online describing the same issue. I will check more and get back if I find any solution.

Which version of Wordfence are you using? Your theme details?

OK. I want to delete the comment listing all my plug-ins, so if you need that can you paste them into your notepad? Thanks

Yes I got the details. Thanks! And when you disable CVG is the site back up online now? without other plugins enabled?

Yes. I restored the CVG 2.1 and I’m back to normal.

I’ve checked you website again which runs older CVG 2.1, looks like you site is still brown in video gallery pages. jquery files are not loaded and hence video galleries are not working as expected.

Really? What browser are you using? In both Edge and Firefox it’s working fine. They don’t use the JW Player though. They open in youtube –which is what I’m using for cvg galleries.

I was checking at URL- https://adventurecowboy.com/adventure-video-clips/

I’m using Chrome. (same on other browsers – firefox) The thumbnails are redirecting to youtube url. This is only due to error in website to load jquery. If no errors, it will open in JW Player. I believe you are not forcing anything in plugin to enable it as a URL redirect to youtube. Purpose of CVG is not to redirect to youtube ??

Another finding from your website –
Default jquery javascript provided by WP is also throwing internal server error.

    Please check below URL: https://www.adventurecowboy.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js

I think there is some issue with WP configuration or any other plugin. May be CVG, hope it is not the culprit ??

You can try disabling CVG and check the jquery file to confirm it.

OK. Thanks for the heads up. I don’t understand jquery at all and can’t study up on it right now. I’m out of time for the present — moving to a cow camp where I don’t have internet access unless I drive and park in front of the local diner ?? So this will have to be on hold for about a month. I’m just happy it’s back up!

    Ok. Not a problem.

jQuery javascript plugin mentioned above is provide by wordpress. It is a core file included in wordpress. Above mentioned URL is link to your wordpress jquery file. This file is also not loading on your webserver and is throwing internal server error. Ideally it should load the contents of jquery file. I feel it is something to do with wordfence plugin which blocks these. I’ve seen similar issues posted by other users using wordfence plugin.
