• I updated CVG plug-in, and was checking the details. When I tried to go back to my dashboard I got a 500 error. (using Edge) Same on the front-end. So I tried Firefox, and got the same error. I disabled the plug-in from my File Manager. My site is back up. But now what do I do?

I’m afraid to enable the plug-in for fear it will crash again. If I uninstall it will I lose all my galleries? Or can I uninstall it and try re-installing. I just went to JW Player and got a key, so it’s ready, but I haven’t used it yet. Please advise the best way to proceed. This is the best video plug-in available, and I don’t want to lose it!

Praveen, I have to leave in a couple hours, so I hope this works. Right now I’m doing a total site back-up. I love all-in-one WP Security, but have been afraid to switch since I always manage to lock myself out! But I’m going to try. We’ll see if that helps. Wordfence says all my core wp files are good–but I suppose I could maybe upload a fresh jquery file if switch plug-ins doesn’t work. Haha. If I’m still here in a couple hours you’ll know I’m in trouble!

OK Praveen, I’ve done all I can do until next month. I uninstalled Wordfence and replaced it with a different security — and have the security ratcheted up pretty tight. Once I made sure everything was working normal I reinstalled WP 4.5 to make sure all the files were there and fresh. Then I checked the galleries again under cvg 2.1. They still play in youtube. I don’t have time to go through CVG settings, or anything else. I didn’t run the update because I don’t have time to fix anything if I end up with the 500 server error. I’ll be back next month.
Thanks for working on this, I know it’s time consuming and frustrating. But I hope you stick with it, because this is a great plug-in!
