    Hi all,

    I start a new thread of same topic because my existing thread was marked as “closed” yesterday with unknown reason. Of course, the error issue has not been solved. (that’s why topic as “part 2)

    I summarize the error and what I have done in order to give you / moderators a better idea/

    After upgrading to 3.5.2 via the Dashboard, I couldn’t access Dashboard anymore. Only a WordPress logo shown.

    What have I tried:

    1) Before upgrading, switched back to default theme (Twenty Twelve);
    2) Disabled all plugins
    3) 2 tried twice upgrade — one time also I renamed the plugin folder and theme folder too.
    4) Told moderators that I hosted at https://www.lypha.com (Shared, Linux server)

    So, I believe the update fail doesn’t relate to theme and plugin.

    Lucky I have a full backup before applying upgrade. That’s why I can downgrade to 3.5.1 after several tries.

    Thanks

    Kay

    Sorry about that. We had no choice but to close the topic due to incessant interruptions from other people which resulted in the topic becoming unmanageable. Try:

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    because my existing thread was marked as “closed” yesterday with unknown reason.

    unfortunately your original topic ( https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/update-database-fails-and-cant-access-dashboard-after-352-update?replies=34 ) was hijacked by too many other users to be easy to follow – the closure was not based on anything you have done.

    Hi,

    When you said “re-upload”, you mean upload a fresh copy of 3.5.1 or 3.5.2 ??

    I did a full backup already and ready to give it a try.

    Let me know. Thanks

    thanks for this Esmi, I had the same problem and uploading the files manually fixed it

    Hi,

    I did a try as below:

    1) Disable all plugins
    2) Switch to default Twenty-Two theme
    3) Backup and erase all files via FTP excepts wp-config.php and wp-content folder
    4) Load a fresh copy of 3.5.1
    5) Login to Dashboard (success) then do “update to 3.5.2”

    Got same error — Blank screen with a WordPress login.

    When I login Dashboard again (and tried out wp-admin/upgrade.php), I see follow error message:

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /home3/eggstudi/public_html/wordpress/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1225

    Could anybody help? My host is https://www.lypha.com

    Thanks

    Finally I have solution from other post.

    Create a file called “php.ini” in the “wp-admin” folder of wordpress install.

    Add the following text to the file;

    memory_limit = 256M ;

    Then my error is fixed.
