Update fail error to 2.4.1

  • I updated one of my websites: https://ifcnationalmarketing.com/ to Ultimate Member 2.4.1 and after the update we could no longer log into the website, we got an error message in a red box saying: ‘he response parameter is invalid. I have to do a full database restore to get the website working and allowing people to login again. Effectively, going back to the old version of Ultimate Member.

    Can anyone shed any light on this error message or perhaps make any recommendations. I want to update the plugin, but cant’ have all our members locked out of logging into the website.

    Could you please tell us what’s the previous version before you upgrade to the latest version?

    Thanks for getting back to me. I was updating the plugin fro 2.3.2 to 2.4.1.

    The php version is 7.4.29 and the WordPress Core is 5.9.3, I did have it on 6.0 when I updated the plugin, but had to restore everything back again.

    The theme that is used in the website is Avada version 7.7.1

    Hi just checking in again, I didn’t hear back from you after giving my version number. I am taking over the website from a previous web designer and don’t know much about Ultimate Member, anything you can tell me would be useful. I don’t even know if I have the paid version or the free version.

    When you update the UM plugin, did it show the “Visit Upgrade” notice above the WP Admin ?

    Are you able to tell if I have the free of premium versions, I am wondering if the premium version might work better.

    Sorry for the late response.

    Do you have the UM ReCaptcha installed on your site? If so, please deactivate it before updating to the latest version 2.4.1 of Ultimate Member. I believe this “response parameter is invalid” is coming from the UM ReCaptcha extension.
