Recently my site has been insert a mysterious “q” all over the place and destorying the fronetnd.
While also encountering the // Update failed: q{“success”:true,”data”:{“ // on the plugin page.

I’ve done research on such error message and google leads me to the Code Snippets plugin.

Here are some pages for reference:

    Hello @mask666,

Thank you for sharing the details.

If deactivating the Code Snippets plugin didn’t resolve the issue, it’s likely that the issue is being caused by another plugin or the theme. I recommend the following steps to troubleshoot:

    • Switch the theme: Temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme (e.g., Twenty Twenty-One) to check if the issue persists. This will help rule out theme-related issues.
    • Deactivate other plugins: Deactivate all other plugins except for Code Snippets, and then check if the problem still occurs. If the issue disappears, reactivate each plugin one by one to pinpoint which one is causing the issue.

    Hi @mask666,

To add to what oaksmith suggested, the ‘q’ issue was only present in one version of Code Snippets – if you are on the latest release, then it’s unlikely this is being caused by this plugin.

Definitely give switching off other plugins a go, and see if the problem persists.

    Hello both,

Thanks so much for the quick response. I restored the website with a previous day’s backup and the problem is gone with this plugin deactivated. Therefore, I can confirm the “Code Snippets don’t cause q” issue.

Still investigating what caused such a weird issue.

Thanks again and have a lovely weekend.

@mask666 could you please confirm that you are using the latest (as of today) version of plugin 3.6.7?
