Update Failed: Could not create directory.

  • Hi,

    I am facing problem Update Failed: Could not create directory. Where we have lot of space in the disk and Permissions are using 755.
    Still this is coming update failed.

    Kindly help me to fix this problem

  • Depending on what you are trying to update (plugin/theme/WordPress core), you could always manually update it via FTP/SFTP or some similar host provided File Manager. As that might provide additional information if you are also not able to update it manually.

    There’s also the possibility of your site’s server error logs reporting the issue. If you have the site/server configured to log errors. So that might be another option to explore.
