• Hello,

I am getting an error “Update Failed: Internal Server Error” when trying to update any of my plugins. I am on WordPress v.4.7.2 but noticed there was a 4.7.3 version. One thing is my WordPress site is telling me I am up to date (with today’s time stamp) so I had believed I was up to date. What is the reason why my WordPress site isn’t picking up on the new version and why aren’t my plugins updating? I am assuming the two issues are related.

Everything else on my site works fine. Everything is up and running and we haven’t received any server errors. I apologize if this is a question to ask my hosting provider, I was just hoping to ask someone here that actually KNOWS WordPress.

  • Hello,

I may advise you to check the error logs. And to see exactly what’s causing the 500 Internet Server Error while trying to update the plugins. If you are using cPanel at the actual host, you should find an icon named ‘Errors’ where you can check to see if any errors were logged. In case you are unable to find them, contact your web host, provide them with your IP address and ask them to check the error logs. Based on their findings, you can work on a fix. If there’s anything else that I can help you with, please let me know.
