Update failure, ftp delete unavailable

    I had the following error while updating Wordfence on a website:
    An error occurred while updating Wordfence Security: Could not remove the old plugin.

    Since then, the wordfence folder is full of temp files that cannot be deleted (ftp log says they are somehow running).

    I cannot even try to delete the folder, and I don’t want to have to update the plugin manually every version via ftp (which would be the only possible way I found).

    Any tips on how to solve this?

    Hi,

    This is really a WordPress or a hosting problem. Your permissions are set so that WordPress can’t upgrade you automatically. Please log a call with your hosting provider to fix your file permissions.
