“Update File” button in Theme Editor doesn’t save work

  • Hello. Any help would be much appreciated. I’ve checked dozens of forums but have been unable to resolve the issue. Thanks for reading.

    When I edit the code in the Theme editor and then click the “Update File” button, it doesn’t save my work and simply reverts back to the old code. I can’t save any changes in the code. I’ve tried multiple themes, different browsers and even different computers but nothing has worked.

    I don’t think it is an issue of the files not being editable because I get the “Update File” button rather than something telling me that I need to change the permissions.

  • I have the same problem.

    Hi,

    Check with these options:

    -> disable all the plugins and enable it one by one to find out the culprit.
    -> upgrade your wordpress to the latest version
    -> If there is no permissions issue then change your theme to default and have a check with theme editing to rules out theme level problems.
