Update from 1.3.6 to 1.4.8 breaks website

  • When updating the Free FooGallery plugin from version 1.3.6 to 1.4.8 it breaks the whole site and only shows me the header of the page.

    I tried this on 4.8.3 and 4.9 versions of WordPress, but it happens each time.

    I have had to revert back to version 1.3.6 of the plug-in to keep the site up and running.

    Any idea why?

    Hey Simon,

    Not sure without some more info, but from your description it seems to be a fatal PHP error.
    When it breaks the site, could you turn on WP_DEBUG to see what PHP warnings or errors are occurring. It should tell you which file and line number it is originating from.

    Hi @bradvin, thanks for getting back to me.

    I did as you asked but it didn’t come back with anything again, it just shows the black header as before an not report or any other content.

    Is there anything else I can check?

    I have restored it back again now.
