    I tried to auto-install from 3.5 to 3.5.1 on a IIS7.5 server. I tried “Option 2.” on the codex: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Version_3.5.1

    This did not work.

    I tried this tip from https://www.satoritechsolutions.com/blog/urgent-do-not-upgrade-to-wordpress-3-5-on-iis/:

    “In the file /wp-includes/class-http.php comment out lines 144 and 145, which look like the following:

    if ( ! is_writable( dirname( $r[‘filename’] ) ) )
    return new WP_Error( ‘http_request_failed’, __( ‘Destination directory for…”

    Does not work also, still the “Destination directory for file streaming does not exist” error.

    The Codex says to manually install the ‘Hotfix’ plugin, but the Hotfix plugin itself does not yet mention it will fix the 3.5.1 upgrade…

    Are there any other tips?

  • I would follow the instructions that the release post mentions: 3.5.1 for IIS

    I agree it looks like the hotfix plugin has not been updated with this, but adding the code in Option 2 should work.

    I tried option 2 again, but it does not work.

    Up until now never a problem upgrading WordPress, but 3.5.1 upgrade is not possible on my server I guess. Is there anyone with a new idea?

    Copying wp-admin & wp-includes manually via FTP gave me a good update to 3.5.1 on IIS7.5
