update hung

    Hi, I am updating from 3.1 I believe, or it could be 3.1.1, I don’t remember. Anyway, I hit the automatic update and now the page that says briefly unavailable for scheduled maintinance won’t go away after about 10 minutes. What should I do to get access to my site again?

  • FTP into your site (or use whatever file management application your host provides) and delete the .maintenance file in your WP folder.

    Sorry, false alarm! The update just took wwwwwwwwwwwwwwaaayyyyyyyyyyyy longer than I expected. The servers must be a little slower now than they used to be at my host.
