    Hey all. Finally, the long awaited revamp of Easing Slider is here. A lot has changed, but much of the core functionality is the same and upgrades should work with no problems.

    Obviously, with so many changes there will be one or two hiccups, so bare with us, but so far everything seems to be working well!

    I’ve worked pretty hard on this update over the past few months, as much as I possibly can. The response Easing Slider (now Riva Slider “Lite”) received was amazing. Five stars reviews in abundance, it definitely made the daily effort worthwhile.

    Hopefully, the praise won’t end you’ll all love the update as much as I do. The workflow has changed for the better and it is now easier than ever to get up and running quickly. Of course, some older features have been removed, including a lot of the somewhat troublesome styling options. Don’t worry, these are set to make a come-back as soon as possible, with an even better and easier to use customisation editor.

    Riva Slider “Lite” is just that, light, with minified scripts and styles totalling just 16kb. We’ve also added options for disabling styling and scripting for easier custom theme integration, as well as making the plugin itself feel more ‘native’ in the WordPress admin. It’s now much more developer friendly, with built in filters and actions for extending functionality (write-ups to come soon).

    Oh, and did I mention it is fully responsive and mobile compatible ??

    Anyway, I could go on all day but I won’t. Look out for the new website coming shortly. Until then, feel free to mention any bugs you come across here and I’ll get onto them as soon as possible!

    Really appreciate all of the great feedback and support over the past two years. Means a lot, and it hasn’t gone un-noticed.

  • First, let me congratulate you on your revamp. Unfortunately though, it seems that with new versions come new problems, as the moment I updated, my slider is no longer centered on my page. Is there a new option to re-align it back to the center of a page I am missing?

    @matthew, how are you buddy? I would like to find out something from you, how do I tweak the code for the slider so that it may know where i want it to point to?

    Here is my scenario:
    I have sub-domain where my wordpress is installed and I then point my index to that specific directory, however everything works except the Riva slide lite, it just shows the black loading icon and the pictures do not load, when I open my site from the sub-directory it works fine, any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

    = Some information to all =
    We’ve had to revert the plugin name back to ‘Easing Slider “Lite”. The WordPress plugin repository was not as accommodating as we had hoped to the name change, as well as the confusion it caused (despite our best efforts to inform users). As a result, we’ve changed it back. It’s all very confusing, I know, but it’s probably be best solution at this current moment in time.

    Hi @keroko, I’m not sure how your slideshow would have been centered previously. I don’t remember including an option for it (I may be wrong). Can you recall how you centered it?

    Anyway, I’ve done a brief post on how to re-align the slideshow into the center. It is really simple, have a look below.

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/centering-your-slideshow

    @mabheks, could you link me to the slideshow on your website? I’ll take a quick look for you and see what is going wrong.

    Thank you for the reply, unfortunately I am not sure. It has been a few months since we first included the slider and it was done with a colleague who’s PHP knowledge far exceeds my own. Said colleague has since moved on to other employments, which left me to finish the site which… I had hoped would be simple. The tricky part was that we had to include the slider on the site’s front page, which meant inserting it in the PHP which, needless to say, does not exactly work with shortcodes in like a regular page.

    Now that the name has been changed back, do we have to re-download the slider manually? Mine is still called Riva slider, and I’m not getting any update notifications…

    No, don’t change anything ?? You will receive the update notification shortly when WordPress executes an update check. These are timed and happen periodically. You should see the notification soon.

    You’ll still need to use the code mentioned in the previous link to center you slideshow, except using the PHP function:

    <div align="center">
    <?php if ( function_exists( 'easingsliderlite' ) ) { easingsliderlite(); } ?>
    </div>

    Replace the previous PHP function used with the one above ??

    Ah, yes. That seems to have fixed things. Thank you.

    One last word of warning, the current update ignores all settings and images from the previous slider. It was an easy fix for me given that I name all my banner images with “banner” but less organized people might spend a couple of frustrating minutes reuploading things…

    It should have imported you slides after the update. v2.0.1 definitely should anyway. Tested it extensively on my end and it seems to be working well. I’ll keep an eye on it! Sorry about that.

    Hey @mabheks, could you email me? [email protected]. I’ve done a quick bug fix that will hopefully fix the issue for you. I’ll email it to you.

    Been using easing slider for over a year without issue. Updated and now the slider doesn’t work at all. Also, I checked admin and all the pictures are gone and I am not able to add them. I choose the add images button and nothing happens. Please advise. Site is

    @mabheks, could you try the 2.0.1.1 update? I think it will fix your issue.

    Hi @chrs4, what version of Easing Slider were you using can you recall? Have you tried updating to v2.0.1.1?

    Alternatively, have you tried re-installing the plugin afresh?

    I can’t recall the Easing Slider version I was using and I currently am on the v2.0.1.1. I will try to reinstall fresh and see if that works

    Tried fresh install and still can’t add images. Click “add images” button and nothing happens

    Hey
    In the last version i used i didn’t have a problem with the slider covering my navigation.

    I updated and now its covering my navigation. I tried putting it in a div an setting the z-index but that didn’t work. https://thetamarindtree.co/

    @chrs4, what browser are you using? Could be a browser issue.

    @ansonvirgo, have you tried adding a z-index to your menus? I’d advise opening a new support topic for this problem and we can sort it out there ??
