  • On my site it was the same. Update to 3.0.0 crashed site. I had to downgrade to old version to restore functionality.

    Hi guys,

It’s the same thing as here:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/3-0-fatal-error/

Please update both Meow Gallery and Meow Lightbox. I am not sure why, it was not supposed to happen, but the update did happen even though the version was not tagged… really weird.

There is still the same problem. I have updated from wordpress admin panel. Lightbox is 3.0.0, Gallery is 4.0.1 and still fatal error occurs.

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined method MeowCommon_Helpers::is_asynchronous_request() in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/meow-lightbox/classes/core.php:28 Stack trace: #0 /public_html/wp-content/plugins/meow-lightbox/classes/init.php(35): Meow_MWL_Core->__construct() #1 /public_html/wp-content/plugins/meow-lightbox/meow-lightbox.php(21): require_once(‘/home/klient.dh…’) #2 /public_html/wp-admin/includes/plugin.php(2297): include(‘/home/klient.dh…’) #3 /public_html/wp-admin/plugins.php(191): plugin_sandbox_scrape(‘meow-lightbox/m…’) #4 {main} thrown in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/meow-lightbox/classes/core.php on line 28

I updated as per the WP Update panel and it broke my site. I went to the Meow App Store, logged in, and download the Gallery and Lightbox zip files, updated and crashed again. Currently doing a restore via backup.

Sorry Jordy and I hope yu can do a roll-back until the new update is stable.

    Best to you!

I have created a brand new website with Meow Gallery And Meow Lightbox, the latest versions. It works fine. I did the same test with the Pro versions.

    Something else is going on.

Are you using another plugin as well, from Meow Apps?

Yes, I also use Clean Pro, Renamer Pro, and WP/LR Sync. The rebuild is nt finished. It comes via VaultPress and will be from 12 hours ago.

    Jordy,

    This was in my email:

    Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Meow Lightbox (Pro).

First, visit your website (https://photoscapes.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://photoscapes.com/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-theme-upgrade) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

The back-up rebuild is still working and not completed.

My theme is custom built on Divi.

    What is a backup rebuild?

The solution is to remove the meow-lightbox directory, it’s a simplest thing to do (to avoid that issue). Then, to make sure the Meow Gallery is to its latest version. As well as other Meow Apps’ plugins. If they are all to their latest versions, it works ??

Another solution is to download the plugins manually, and to replace them in your /plugins directory.

Sorry about the issue, really ?? An update happened before another, and that was not supposed to happened this way. I still don’t know why it happened.

I pay for a daily off site backup and recovery service.

After the first crash, I went into the file system and renamed the Gallery Pro and Lightbox Pro folders so I could get inside the dashboard. Then I downloaded fresh files from your store after logging into my account. But it all crashed again after uploading the fresh files. So I am going back 24 hours to a website restore. I do not have a lot of time as it is late where I am at and I need to finish an article on that site.

I appreciate your help, but I am not upgrading anything else today.

    Kind regards,
    Darlene

I just updated “Meow Gallery”, then I activated “Meow Lightbox” and it works great.
    Thanks for your advice

    Jordy,

After the site rebooted from a backup install, Lightbox Pro automatically updated and the site crashed again. This time I immediately went into file manager and deleted the Lightbox Pro directory. Then I went into the dashboard and uploaded the zip copy of Lightbox Pro 3.0 and everything is back to normal! ??

Thank you for your help as always,
    Darlene

Update Gallery to version 4.0.3 and fresh install of Lightbox 3.0.0 solved the problem.

Jordy, I had the same problem as the others, which has been resolved by installing fresh copies of both plugins (Lightbox and gallery), but both also show “License Issue” in red on the plugin page. Both plugins seem to be working, but I’m concerned that the “license Issue” warning may be indicative of something else that’s going on.

New updates working fine for me, I was lucky to miss the snafu. Just a note, Jordy, the dates on changelog page on Meow Gallery (+ Gallery Block) page are a month in the future.
