Update message will not go away

  • I updated some plugins yesterday, that went wrong and my website got into maintenance mode. After a while it was visible again and the plugins appeared to be updated. So all was well eventually. Only I can’t lose this message;
    An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now.

    I can’t attach a screenprint here to show the update page showing that all is up to date! How can I get ride of that message? thank you. Henri

    Is there a “.maintenance” (the dot makes it a hidden file) in the root of your site? Check via FTP or your hosting control panel’s file manager app. If so, delete that file.
