Update Neve with a child theme

    I run several sites and use Neve theme and Elementor Pro plus custom pages and custom plugins. I have a lot of custom code in the child theme functions.php.

    I have not updated the parent theme and feel I should do so but am nervous about sites being affected. Is there a recommended method for updating the parent theme? Should one de-activate the child first? Back up the child theme? Is there a way to roll back to a previous version of the theme if things go awry?

    Any advice appreciated

    Thank you for using the Neve theme. If you’re using a child theme and haven’t made any changes directly in the files of the parent theme there is nothing to worry about and you can update the parent theme for sure.

    Of course, if you haven’t updated the theme in a while it’s better to make a backup just in case (you never know). Better to feel safe ??

    It’s always recommended to have a backup of the website if you update something/make bigger changes.
