Hi. I had placed this in the Envira forum but on reflection I think the question belongs here.

This is not the first time this has happened…

I just just changed an image on the front page of my site. I hit update. Now the space where the image should be is black.

So: it has deleted it, but the new image does not present.

    Why is this?

My current set up involves W3 Total Cache —if I choose to purge the cache this will usually sort out the issue

But doing that of course removes everything from cache, making site run slower again (is that 100% correct?).

If so, how long does it take to get the site back to where it was in terms of caching?

I have not cleared the cache, so if anyone can take a look at https://fotoscopic.com/ they will see what I am talking about.

    Thanks for any tips,
    DJ

    Hello @dsj1972

I am sorry about the issue you are having and I am happy to assist you with this.
If you purge all cache then yes, of course, all cache will need to rebuild.
However, you can choose Performance>Purge modules>Page Cache: All in the top admin bar. This way only Page cache will be purged.
It is recommended to purge the cache when you make changes to your website.
This will not affect your GtMetrix score if that’s what you are concerned about.
In order to be cached, pages need to be re-visited, or you can setup Cache Preload in Performance>Page Cache, Cache Preload sub-box to Automatically prime the page cache if you do not want to wait for all your pages to be re-visited.
    I hope this helps!

    Thank you. I have purged.

Sadly, there is remains a black space.

When I click on it, it takes me to the right page, perhaps it takes a small while to see the change reflected?

    Thanks,
    David.

    Hello @dsj1972

I believe that this is not related to W3 Total Cache. When you inspect your page, In Console you can see an error that some images failed to load. Please check the screenshot.
Do you have any update from Envira support?
