NB. Version of WP currently installed isn’t on the version list – 4.3.4
    Theme is 2010 (and it’s up-to-date)

    Update fails with:

    “Update WordPress
    Downloading update from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/release/en_GB/wordpress-4.5.2.zip…
    Unpacking the update…
    Could not copy file.: wordpress/wp-includes/formatting.php
    Installation Failed”

Tried several times (including with all plugins de-activated) – same error, different file each time.

Ran ‘Background Update Tester’ – four green ticks

Never had WP update issue before.

how are you doing for disk space?

    Brilliant deduction, Sterndata!

There was plenty of space previously when I ran the last update, but the client had added some huge image files and used quite a bit of the remaining space in his account.

Changed the space allocation, and the update ran without a hitch.

    Many thanks.
