Update of existing plugin no longer automatic?

    I have used WP Photo Gallery for years. Now suddenly I found that it has not updated the plugin and apparently there is something wrong with the site. I am not very strong to this, but do I have to make a new download of the plugin and will I have to set up all the photos again then?

    What is the latest version appearing in your WP Admin “Plugins” menu?

    Even if you download the latest version from https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/photo-gallery/ an manually update the plugin you will not have to re-create galleries – all data on already existing ones is stored in website’s files/DB and will simply align to the version update,
