    Hey,

Question from a plugin developer about the 4.9 core update, and core updates in general. Is there a way I can update my plugin’s “Tested up to” version tag without having to release a new stable tag and trigger a plugin update for my users?

Essentially I want to let users and potential users know the plugin is safe to use with an upcoming version, but since nothing else changes, triggering an update notification for plugin users seems unintuitive.

    Is this possible somehow?

Changing the Tested up to: line of the readme.txt file will not trigger an update for the plugin, so it’s safe to do if that’s all you want to change. ??

Yes, just change the readme.txt file without bumping the version. Do it in both trunk and the tagged version. Simple.

Hi I’m having some issues with this. We have bumped the tested up to flag as well as our own version and we’re still getting a warning on our plugin page that the plugin hasn’t been tested in 3 major releases. We have tested it, it works fine.

    How do I fix this?

Also, not sure if this is the right forum for this issue, sorry if it is not.
