your update this morning just sent my entire theme at bulldogcanadian.com out of whack

it was virtually unusable and made little sense to readers

i’m using ie and when I uninstall your program – my theme goes back to normal

it was very disconcerting — I enjoy your program and find it very usefull – it is one of the first I installed but the update is destroying the twenty ten theme

    plse repair

    Hello.

    First… my apologies.

Can you please re-install version 4.3.1 of the plugin… and see if that addresses the formatting issue?

Just updated, same problem as kengray20, using weaver pro , also FWB Slider Pro plugin stop working when I updated. I have two WP sites, the other site works fine without the update. I even deleted the plugin and reinstalled it and still the same problem. I’ve used your plugin for a while and had know problems till now. I won’t update until all problems are solved.

All problems should be solved in version 4.3.1.1. I have had numerous users reporting the issue is fixed.

Perhaps you might want to try manually clearing your browser cache?

Please let me know if it works for you. And I am very sorry for the inconvenience!

I reinstalled a couple of times and the problem continues. I can’t use your plugin until it is repaired.

I was on the phone for much of the morning with online support and they couldn’t figure out the problem.

The only thing I’d done was download your update and it exploded my twenty-ten theme.

I have installed and uninstalled it and the same thing happens. I can’t do that now because this is a high readership time.

It was very disconcerting. We work hard to build up readership and trust that your plugin updates will work properly.

I know it is tricky but the consequences of a mistake can be very significant

    Thank you.

I understand. I will try to do much better on future updates.

Thank you for taking the time to mention this issue to me.

    Hi Kengray,

I had a similar issue but instead of reinstalling and uninstalling, download the new version from this site then install and all will go back to normal and working great :D.

    Thanks

thx Mr. Montgomery but I’m very worried about blowing up my site by downloading this plugin which I have used with great success since I started my two site.

    I appreciate your help.

But I’d really like to hear from Josh on how exactly I can download his product to that I can continue to use it but not blow up twenty-ten.

I’m in a spot. I’ve used the plugin on almost all of my posts but I can’t take the chance of blowing up the site again by using the plugin.

With respect, I need to know from Josh how I can use the new plugin and not destroy my site. My readership gets killed when the sites do not run properly and my sites require and have high readership.

I use IE and the Twenty-Ten theme in WordPress on a PC.

    cheers and thx

    Hello kgray,

I sincerely appreciate and understand your website. I do consider myself a very “sensitive” developer… and I will always value my users websites, constructive criticisms, and ideas for future development.

I honestly had no intention on messing with your site.. and I really have no idea how it happened. This is why I strongly suggest people running a test site alongside their primary site… in order to test new updates before applying them to a live site. I am human… and I do make mistakes sometimes ??

So, as far as I know… version 4.3.1.1 is fixed. I have had about seven users report this updated version is not messing with the site layout.

I would suggest giving version 4.3.1.1 a try. And if you still experience the issue… be sure to manually empty your browser cache.

And… if you still have issues after that… please let me know and I will personally get you sorted out.

Keep me in the loop, please!

    Hi Ken,

As Josh mentioned earlier, the plugin has been fixed. Now, it is entirely up to you whether you decide to keep using it or not, but there is nothing more we can do on our end here.

Sometimes stuff breaks, for a myriad of different reasons, including premium software, and what makes the difference, both to our users as well as our users’ readers and followers, is being able to count with a team that will quickly resolve the situation, which is exactly what happened in this case. If you have been using WP for a while, you must have noticed that it is not uncommon for plugins and themes to remain broken for countless days, sometimes even weeks, before the authors even get to addressing the problems. How long did it take in this case? Less than 12 hours? That’s even better than my premium hosting plan’s average response time whenever I post a support ticket!

On a more personal note, and to the risk of sounding slightly too straightforward, I believe that if you intend to stop using every plugin that breaks due to an update every once in a while, you won’t be left with many to choose from at the end of the day. But then again, that is just my opinion.

    Thank you for your feedback.

With respect, being down 12 hours destroys readership as you can well imagine.

All of us who produce websites don’t want to be spending hours trying to discover what ruined out site.

We want to spend the time making our sites better, not to keep them from being rendered worthless by a plugin update mistake.

As I asked before, what do I need to do to load this so that it does not blow up my site again? Please explain the procedure please.

I can’t afford to have this happen again. It has been a very trying morning.

    cheers

You are absolutely right, kgray. However, Marventus does raise a few good points. And, I have to agree with him (for the most part) ??

Anyways.. let’s focus on what is important here… YOUR SITE.

So, have you updated to version 4.3.1.1 and manually cleared your browser cache?

    Thread Starter kengray20

    (@kengray20)

    Josh:

No I want to do this at a time when the consequences do not occur at high readership.

If you can simply put the instructions for the correct method on this forum, I would really appreciate it.

    thank you

I think that by updating to version 4.3.1.1 and manually clearing your browser cache… it will be fine.

I will be monitoring all these threads intently over the next few days to ensure transitions are smooth. So, if anything else happens, I will be available asap to help.

Please also let me know if you would like my contact form which will give you direct access to my personal email address.

    Kind Regards.
