    Hi,

    One problem when updating to 1.1: It will remove functions.php file auto.

    is this a bug?!

    I’m not entirely clear on what you mean here. It sounds as though you may have set up a custom functions.php file within your copy of the TwentyTwentyThree theme – is that right?

    It’s true that if you update the theme – it would overwrite the existing folders and files – this is expected (rather than a bug).

    Yes, that’s what I mean.

    Hi @hqin – in order not to overwrite your customized/added files whenever there’s a theme update, you can use a child theme. I recommend using the Create Block Theme plugin to create your child theme.

    Alternatively, you can use the Code Snippets plugin to avoid having to add a functions file to the theme in the first place.
