Update question

  • I just discovered a bunch of markers not showing on a layer map, and other markers were misplaced (wonky stuff!) I have not updated to WP 3.9.1 yet, awaiting being sure that Genesis works with it, so am using WordPress 3.8.3.

    Can I safely install Maps Marker Pro 1.6 FROM Ver. 1.5.9? Given that I’m using 1.5.9 on WP 3.8.3 is there anything in that combination that would cause my markers to suddenly be missing off layer map? Or moved? (I do have an issue with them moving unintentionally which I’ll address in another thread but I do not think the types of moves I’m seeing is due to that.)

  • Hi Janjo,
    it is usually always safe to update to the latest version. I`d suggest you do that and check afterwards if the issue still exists.
    If yes, please try to disable all other plugins to check if this is an (unknown) plugin conflict. If not, please provide a URL to
    the layer map where markers disappeared – it could be that due to copy+paste of popuptext from other programs hidden
    characters could have been added which broke the geojson array needed for layer maps.

    Okay, I checked some other layer maps and they seem okay, I’ll keep an eye on them and see if anything like this happens again. Thanks.

    Re the Maps update, I just wanted to be sure that your plugin update wasn’t specifically geared to WP 3.9.1 since I’m likely to stay on 3.8.3 for a bit longer.
