    Hello.
I am wanting to update the WooCommerce plugin from 5.5.1 to 5.5.2, however it states:

Warning: This plugin has not been tested with your current version of WordPress.
    Compatible up to: 5.7.2

    I am running WordPress 5.8

When will WooCommerce be showing it has been tested and is compatible?

    Thank you

  • Hello,

Although it’s not officially tested with WordPress 5.8, WooCommerce 5.5.2 should still be compatible – I have a couple of test sites that have WordPress 5.8 and WooCommerce 5.5.2, and haven’t had any issues. But it’s always safer to create a backup before updating: https://woocommerce.com/posts/create-use-backups-woocommerce/

I really want to know when WooCommerce will officially show it is tested and compatible. I find it incredible that WooCommerce is not keeping up with WordPress. Plenty of other plugins are.

    Hi there ??

It is somewhat normal for the compatibility warning to show sometimes for WooCommerce/WooCommerce.com plugins (developed directly by Automattic/WooCommerce).

The latest available version of WooCommerce will always be compatible with the latest available version of WordPress.

I’m successfully running the latest WooCommerce and WordPress versions on a few sites, but if you’d like to make sure no issues will arise after updating – you can test the updates on a staging site using the WP Staging plugin.

    I hope this helps!
