  • Same problem for me as well, just tried to update to 1.6.6.4 and it failed. I did register through the website but that doesn’t seem to work for me…

Oops, nevermind, I forgot to add the key into the actual WP site. I had only added the URL through the account dashboard. Was able to update after properly registering the site now. Although it would be easier if we didn’t have to do this step…

    Thanks!

I don’t think you’re supposed to have to register in order for the update to work–so I think there’s still a problem that needs to be fixed.

I was able to update only after deactivating the plugin. I was then able to reactivate it successfully.

This is the second update that I’ll have to manually update all of my client websites that use this. Also, I don’t like that I have to register to use a free plugin and get updates without errors.

I understand that technically, I don’t have to register, but as this error was supposedly “fixed” last time, while it clearly isn’t, and the easiest way to avoid it is to register on their website and install another plugin, just makes it seem shady to me.

I think I need to find a new way to easily create and use custom post types and taxonomies.

Just verifying the issue here that you need to deactivate the plugin to update it. Thanks.

    Please do that:

    1. turn off Types
    2. update
    3. turn on Types

    I’m sorry for that problem.

Also want to confirm that for some sites I still need to deactivate > update > reactivate. This issue doesn’t affect all sites using the Types plugin. (In fact it only affects 1 site out of about 6 that I have using Types.)

I’m sorry for this troubles, and it will be again to at least version 1.6.7 or 1.7 (depend which will be first).

We must fix “installer module” in all our plugins and we must publish all together.

    Marcin
