This plugin on our website was updated to version 1.5.0 today.
This has created cascading JavaScript errors in the WordPress backend when adding/editing a post/page.

The problem was brought to us by our client who reported that the “Set Featured Image” link suddenly stopped working.
We then observed JavaScript errors from load-scripts.php
    e.g.
Uncaught TypeError: _.pluck is not a function
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘hasClass’ of undefined at HTMLDocument.
    etc
    etc

Disabling the plugin and these errors go away.

Can you please advise of a fix to this.

    many thanks

    Ian

Can you try the version provided at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/warnings-on-edit-page-after-1-5-0-update/#post-11408227, especially if it’s a relatively new install, that hasn’t had a form created yet?

If the error still persists even with the version 1.5.1 beta copy provided in that thread, then we’ll need to dig in further with your specific case.

    Hi,

Many thanks for the quick reply.
I have replaced the code with the 1.5.1 beta and the errors are still the same.

It looks like there is some jQuery code conflict going on.
This plugin was working OK for us on the previous version 1.4.5, so what has been changed in the new 1.5.0 that is causing this?
    Can you further advise please?

    many thanks

Would you be willing to take this support request private and off of the forums here? We can report back any findings/solutions after the fact in case others experience the same issues and also include them in a bugfix release if we need to.

If willing, please email [email protected] and CC [email protected]. Also please provide a link to this forum request so we can keep track of context.

    Thanks.

Just wanted to add my name to the list here. Version 1.5 totally messed up the back end of my client’s site. Once disabled, everything worked fine.

@fourword we’ve had two reported issues thus far, can you clarify which you’ve been experiencing? Javascript issues? Fatal errors and array_key_exists problems?

Anyone needing to revert to the previous version while things get worked out, you can grab a copy of version 1.4.5 via https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/constant-contact-forms.1.4.5.zip

Java. You can download a screenshot of the errors at https://1drv.ms/f/s!AuCYAytuN32dmn5YPNJ38RHa8spW

Are either of you comfortable enough to log into your FTP server to enable script debugging? It’ll separate out some of the errors and provide a more comprehensive listing so we can hopefully better determine the exact source of the errors.

More information on the idea: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Debugging_in_WordPress#SCRIPT_DEBUG

We can also work with you privately to help with this, if you prefer.

Looks like there is a problem with the latest update. I’m having same issues.

Which issues are you referring to @jcorapi ? The ones related to javascript? or the TGMPA function conflict, or perhaps both?

Thus far, we have no present updates available, as we’re still working to recreate and dig into issues further.

Definitely the javascript issues….not sure about the other. The issue I’m having is that the editor is not working across the entire site.

I’m not seeing the TGMPA issue in the error_log file.

Noted. While we work through the reported issues thus far, you can acquire a copy of the previous version via https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/constant-contact-forms.1.4.5.zip

This way you can get your site functioning again for the time being.

For our information sake, what theme are you running for the site in question?

I had the same problem, editor not working after updating from 1.4.5 to 1.5. You could not format text in the editor, nor use the Add Media. I reversed back to 1.4.5 and it works properly.

We’re still working on this one, and it’s a deeper issue than we were hoping, and trickling into WP core functionality.

As is, we’ve been able to recreate with Avada + Fusion Builder/Fusion Core, but it definitely is possible that that’s not the only source. Current findings point to some conflict with the js libraries lodash and underscores and we’re trying to see what aspect of our plugin is directly contributing.

That said, as a heads up, we are planning a 1.5.1 release of the plugin imminently but it does not address these Javascript issues. That will be in 1.5.2 hopefully.

Until then, you should be able to roll your plugin copy back to the version 1.4.5 linked above to get your sites functional again in the meantime. We don’t want to be a holdup in them actually running at all.

Thank you for your understanding and patience thus far. We are actively on the situation.
