• Just updated my 2.5.1 WP blog to 2.6 and have a problem with login to admin area. Can not login, system returns with error “Please login again”.

Does anyone faced with such problem?

  • BCG’s, the designer of the ADMIN SSL plugin, site is down at the moment.

Simply deleting a plugin removes it, yes.

No dice. Plugin is out of the picture, cookies are cleared, still cannot login.

Okay I found the REAL fix for the admin access.
Took a bit of digging in the code.

_ck_ – Awesome. Thanks. Great work.. I can finally login again.

    great!

I had the same problem. kept saying my password was incorrect when i tried to login. i just cleared my cookies and that problem was fixed.

Thank God I found this thread after 2 days of searching fruitlessly here to resolve the login issues. I cleared all cookies for my blog domain & so far the login’s working fine now.

I note that I only had this problem w. Firefox. With IE the login behavior never changed even after upgrading to 2.6.

To those who say above that they “fixed” the problem by clearing their cookies, I just want to say that when I clear out my WordPress cookies it only fixes the problem temporarily (for a week or so). Then I get the same login problem & have to wipe out my WP cookies once more.

I’m presuming this problem has been reported to the Trac system. Does anyone know? I’m hoping that 2.6.1 will provide a fix for this annoying problem.

The problem has not been reported to trac, because nobody has yet reported what the problem actually is. A few attempts were made, but once they actually cleared their cookies, the problems went away and those tickets were closed.

Trac is for bug tracking, not for support. If you have a reproducible problem, then trac is the place for it. I have yet to find any problem along these lines that is not fixed by clearing cookies.

Also, your statement about it stopping after a week makes no sense. If the cookie didn’t change, then you’d still be logged in. Also, you still have not described the actual “login problem” you are having as yet.
