    Hi,

I came across WPTuts Youtube video about the 8G Firewall option yesterday, offering a bit better security. Apparently the code can be found on this website:

    https://perishablepress.com/8g-firewall/

If you are the same author, are you planning on updating the BBQ Firewall plugin or will there be maybe a new plugin for the 8G Firewall?

    Just wondering ??

    Glad to help.

Yes that is my site and also yes eventually 8G rules will be included in BBQ. No timeline yet, want to fine-tune as much as possible before adding to the plugin.

Thanks for your interest, and let me know if I can provide any further information.

Okay cool, good to know ??

Well, will be great to then upgrade to 8G, in the meantime I will use this plugin then.

Keep the community in the loop about the update, I am sure many will be interested.

Sorry to bother you again, I am just wondering what happens if I use the 8G option from your website, then how much is redundant because its already in the BBQ firewall plugin.

Or asked differently: will there be any issues/conflicts if I use both (BBQ plugin + the website 8G code)? And also, some security plugins, Wordfebce, Cloudflare etc. also offer firewall rules, any experience whether there might be conflicts if the same firewall rule is used by different instances?

Just need to know to set up everything in best way possible ??

    Thanks again.

No conflicts known with any other WP plugin, including BBQ Firewall. Yes there are some overlapping rules, but they work great together and both are lightweight so the result is more protection. Of course every setup is different, so best advice is to test thoroughly before going live with anything.

Looking forward to the 8G udate as well

    Thanks for the great work
