    Hi there,

So PHP 7.4 is out and I thought I’d give it a try on 2 of my more quiet sites, both running WF free version, all plugins/themes up to date. One site updated to 7.4 fine and seems to work ok, the other one gave me this error:

Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required ‘/home/thetas/public_html/wordfence-waf.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php74/pear’) in Unknown on line 0

It works fine again when I go back to PHP 7.3

    Any ideas?

I think I found the problem with the help of my host, Siteground. I mention them because of the different settings required for Wordfence on their servers. I believe .user.ini is not needed with them, but 2 of my sites still had those files with paths from another hosting account. But for some reason it still all worked, until I updated to PHP 7.4 I have now removed the user.ini file (I hope I’m right in thinking I don’t need them) and everything seems to be working fine on PHP 7.4

    Problem solved ??
